There are numerous wonderful golf courses to play on the Ayrshire coast, but the three that we feel provide a super and indeed affordable combination, are Kilmarnock Barassie, Dundonald Links and Irvine Golf Club. Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club has been welcoming golfers from around the world since 1887 to play the superb links course. The Dundonald links offers visitors a combination of a great golf course and exceptional levels of customer service. A warm welcome awaits all golfers on and off the golf course. The Irvine Golf Club established 1887, is truly is one of Scotland’s hidden gems, offering a traditional links challenge, which owes much of its present-day character to the course design of the great James Braid. One of Scotland’s most celebrated course designers, James Braid created a legacy of distinctive courses, characterised by their great variety and interesting use of nature’s assets. To compliment these three exceptional courses, the hotel that we recommend for the itinerary is the 4-star Gailes Hotel in Irvine. The hotel has excellent rooms, a super ambience and is ideally located for the three golf courses.
