Itinerary 12: Wiltshire

Such is the popularity of golf in Wiltshire, a second Wiltshire itinerary is required! The itinerary commences at the quite majestic Manor House Golf Club at Castle Combe, a simply wonderful golf course, set amidst 365 acres of stunning Cotswold countryside. North Wilts Golf Club is an example of a downland golf course and it will test even the lowest handicap golfer. Every hole poses a different question, but it is thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding course to play. The Players Club, opened in 2002, was quickly ranked 113 in the Golf World 2006 ‘Best Courses in Great Britain and Ireland’. You will play the Codrington course, which was built to the finest specifications with USGA greens, fairway irrigation and a rich landscape of woodland, lakes and gorse all coming into play. The hotel for the itinerary is the charming Angel Hotel, a delightful 17th Century coaching inn set in the market town of Chippenham. In fact, it overlooks the marketplace itself, giving guests convenience and character in abundance.
