Itinerary 25: North Wales

North Wales has always been an extremely popular destination and is easily accessible via the North Wales Expressway. The three Clubs that are most in demand are Royal St David’s, Nefyn and Conwy. The itinerary below involves two of them, together with the super links course at Porthmadog. Conwy Golf Club, an Open Qualifying course, provides a stunning location on the North Wales coastline combined with a super links challenge, that will provide a memorable experience for all golfers. Royal St David’s Golf Club, along with Royal Porthcawl Golf Club in the south, are the leading two courses in Wales. A quite superb links course, with undulating fairways and fast true greens. Porthmadog Golf Club was established in 1905 by James Braid, the genius course designer of his day. It is a traditional links course, friendly, challenging and not to be missed. The accommodation for the itinerary is the very worthy Royal Sportsman Hotel in Porthmadog. With good rooms, a super ambience and the best value 2 AA Rosette food for many miles around, the hotel is an ideal accommodation base for the itinerary.
